About Data Backups
If you have ever had a hard drive crash without backups, then you can understand the headaches of having a professional recover the data manually. It can costs literally thousands to have data recovered, and even then you may not get back everything. But all that can be avoided by simply setting up a backup system for much less! Read below to find out why Jimboscomp.com makes the most trusted backup systems.

We have made a dedication to provide the finest computer services and products available. But any computer can have a bad day, even the most elite computers on the market. That's why we have designed data backup systems that can backup your data in the event of a hard drive crash, file system corruption, or physical damage done to a computer. Everything is done through an external storage solution, either by an hard drive, Compact Flash memory card, or a separate server to control only backups.

Personal Backups: We recommend using an external hard drive connected via USB/Firewire to your own personal computer. This is the best choice if you do not have computers on a network, or if you wish only to backup the data on your computer. This option has three choices of backup media to use, an external hard drive, internal hard drive (desktops with room for one more hard drive only), and a Compact Flash card. These backups come in sizes from 4GB to 16GB (Compact Flash) and 200GB to 750GB (internal/external hard drive).

Network Backups: We can setup your external hard drive to connect to your network, enabling you to backup data from multiple computers on your network. This is an efficient idea for home or small office networks. Hard drives in this solution come in sizes from 200GB to 750GB.

Server Based Backup Systems: These are the best solution for small business to large company backups. These are computers that are dedicated to handle the backups of all the data in a business. Computers come loaded with Windows XP Professional, Gigabit LAN, and start with 500GB of space, which can be expanded to over 2TB based on your needs.

Backup FAQs:
-Why Do I Need a Backup?
Everyone needs a backup so that their data is available incase the computer hard drive crashes. Even if you only read e-mails and share photos with friends, a backup will keep you from loosing those e-mails and valuable family photos and memories. We once asked for a quote from a data recovery company, and were quoted $1,700 to retrieve all the data off of a crashed 30GB hard drive. With a backup that may cost around $200, you can have your own backups, which will keep you from having to not only spend thousands, but your backups are right there for your immediate use! Our backups come in sizes from 4GB to over 1TB, and can backup things from personal photos and e-mail, to corporate databases and records.

-What if the computer hard drive and backup drive die at the same time?
The chance of both hard drives crashing at the same time is extremely unlikely. In the years Jimboscomp.com has looked over backups, we have never had a hard drive and backup hard drive crash at the same time.

-Do I ever need to replace my backup hard drive?
We recommend you change out the backup hard drive every 5 years. After about 5 years of use, a hard drive's life and integrity will start to decrease, making the chance of it failing more possible. To keep your backups healthy, changing the hard drive every 5 years will insure your files are safe for many years!

-What if I don't need a lot of space to run my backups?
We have small backup packages as well. We can even setup a backup that will go onto a small Compact Flash card, making your backup reliable, and portable! Compact Flash backups are available up to 16 GB.
